5You could not hear either of these sounds on Global, as the cannons are still turned off to prevent calcs. The old sound effect can still be heard in Japan and possibly Thailand, and the new in Korea.
Old 00:06 - 1:56: The problem with the sound byte in this one is it has always lasted too long. Little under two minutes. Meaning, the effects from the cannon lasts just as long. And seeing as how this was the original sound from 2005, it sounds pretty dated.
New 02:08 - 03:11: This is absolutely beautiful. The sound byte is a little over a minute, and the effects from the cannon lasts under one minute. And it also has an updated sounds. Making it sound much more intimidating now.
The only gripe I have with it is; no matter where you are on the course, it's drowns everything else out. So it has no echo effects if you're too far away from it. Hopefully it will change in future updates, but so far, I approve of this 100%.
