At the end of the Crystal Palace waits the Crystal King, perhaps one of the toughest bosses to this point, maybe even *the* toughest if you didn't fight Kent C. Koopa prior to this. He has many dangerous moves, such as summoning three Crystal Bits and using them as ammunition for a three-hit attack that does 3 damage per hit, splitting into three clones, freezing Mario with a beam of ice, and healing a significant amount of HP. Defeating him heavily relies on destroying the Crystal Bits and illusionary copies as soon as they spawn, and also blocking the ice beam to avoid being frozen.
