What's this? A 4th Curse video on the Dark Revenant?! Yup, and this time it stands alongside the Collective and the Aspirant in the 9x tier!

To refresh your memory, the Revenant is a 4-phase fight, requiring you to bring its HP to 0 a total of 4 times to beat it. The Revenant has 1 Defense regardless of which phase you're in. The Base HP/Attack values for the Revenant are as follows:
Phase 1: 20 HP, 5 Attack (scales to 180 and 45 respectively)
Phase 2: 40 HP, 10 Attack (scales to 360 and 90 respectively)
Phase 3: 60 HP, 15 Attack (scales to 540 and 99 respectively)
Phase 4: 80 HP, 20 Attack (scales to 720 and 99 respectively)
Effective total Base HP: 200 (scales to 1800 on 9x)

To bring in some context, when I first did the Revenant on 4.5x with Dark Shield in hand (the first of my Revenant videos), I had believed that 9x was going to be impossible. I initially believed it could be done because I thought that the Revenant wouldn't get all of its HP back upon entering the next phase. This would've been similar to Tubba Blubba's rematch fight and his EX Fight, where he won't get more than 99 HP. However, the Revenant truly gets 100% of its HP back, regardless of how much HP it would be. At the time, I wrote off 9x knowing what was going to happen.

I then opted to try with just 6x since that would drop the Revenant's attack a decent amount in the first 3 Phases and its effective HP total down to 1200. However, that didn't go so well either as I had ran out of items with the strategy I used. At the time, I had said 4.5x does cut it close, but was doable. At that time I used Dark Smash. But then I theorized that 6x could happen with the right build. And the solution to 6x was to use Mega Bounce for more damage.

I figured with how much better I've gotten since then, as well as the fact that I didn't use Dodge Master on 6x to improve Mega Bounce's consistency, that I could now try this fight again on 9x. This time, the results bore fruit!

As with the 6x clear, the completion of this fight on 9x does require revisiting the Temple with Dark Shield. With Phase 2 onwards having 90-99 Attack, being able to reduce it down to 20-22 with Perfect Stand, Cloud Nine, and Dark Shield in hand is a huge deal. From there, I facilitate Mega Bounce and survivability. I opt for low BP badges that give attack boosts, and just like with the Collective on 9x I can use HP Drain to maximize the amount of turns I get Cake Regen. The main +Attack Badges here are P-Up D-Down, Dark Power, Ice Power (the Revenant takes +1 damage with it), and the big boost is Power Rush (max HP is set to 25 to ensure this can be used). The Revenant cannot deal more than 23 damage in a single turn, even with P-Up D-Down equipped. If I could equip another attack boosting badge I would, but I don't have the BP for it in this build unless I take off Quick Change (which is NOT a good idea). Feeling Fine stays mandatory to prevent the partner from being taken out of commission.

The items used is the Cake Regen 4Head build. No need to explain this, the fight is too long for any other build to be viable. Especially since over-kill damage in a current phase does not carry over into the next.

For Partners, the main 3 are Lakilester, Buzzatrice, and Goombario. Lakilester ensures Cloud Nine stays up. Buzzatrice lets me more consistently refresh my Cake Regen with Rejuvenate, and I can also sneak a couple Hustle Spells in with her. Goombario is the damage; he is the highest consistent damage dealer against a single target, being able to deal 9 Damage to the Revenant with Megabonk. Bow's Outta Sight lets me ensure I stay just a little bit ahead with my damage pace before having to refresh Cake Regen. You have to make every last turn count to get through this fight.

A tough fight, but this was very satisfying to execute considering I had previously written this off!
