Paraphrase on Liszt 'Un Sospiro' (Synthesia) // Kyle Landry
'Un Sospiro' is a piano work by Franz Liszt, composed between 1845–49, also known as Concert Étude no.3, formally published within the work 'Three Concert Études, S.144'. This piece has always drawn me in, which is understandable because Db major has been my favorite key for many many years. That being said, it brings me much joy to share my interpretation of Liszt 'Un Sospiro' on YouTube, because it was on YouTube where I first discovered the original work by Liszt, back in 2006! So please take a moment to sit back and relax to a new take on this Romantic-era piece. Oh yeah, it is important to mention that I quote the motivic material from the B section of Chopin's Fantaisie Impromptu during a couple moments as well. Figured why not, seeing the two composer's paths had met during their lifetimes 😎
