This is MY configuration.

Note that This may not work on your config !

I'm using a 1280*1024 Screen
Core i5 - 8gb ram - ATI 6950 Series
I'm using Windows 7 32 bit for this test

Threading Mode to 0 has less problems with ALT+TAB and screen capture.

Texture Filtering = Don't smooth them, let the shader do it

Hi-Res textures = 1 causes black borders.

Don't use Frame Skipping, the game run craps otherwise

Shader level to 2 (More) or 3 (Medium).
It is enough, otherwise the game will look blurry as hell.

ALSO

You have lot of options with your graphic card driver, check them !

ALSO

If you use save state/load state, aya will walk instead of running, and you will need to use the O button (strange bug...)
