Welcome to This Week in Hearthstone. Here is what happened this week!

March of the Lich King is now LIVE!
Command your Undead army to join you in the March of the Lich King, now live worldwide with 145 new collectible cards, the new Death Knight class, the new Manathirst keyword, and more!

The new Death Knight class has brought new levels of play to the game and there is lots of positivity around the playstyle. We at This Week in Hearthstone love the new class, and cannot wait for the meta to settle a bit and the strongest decks can be found.

Right after the launch of the new expansion we had not one, but TWO patches deployed this week. Lets dive in, shall we? Please note, both of these patches were server side, and data only. These did not need a traditional client update.

Patch 25.0.2 mostly handled day one bug fixes, including:
• Fixing a bug where Souleater’s Scythe would fail to add Bound Souls to the deck if the Scythe was in your initial hand and mulligan away.
• Fixing a bug where Maestra of the Masquerade couldn’t find her Death Knight mask.
• And in Duels, they fixed a bug where Mean Streets of Gadgetzan cards would appear in Witchwood buckets.

In Battlegrounds, the team made the following updates:
• The Menagerie Mayhem and Blood Goblet Quest Rewards have been made easier to earn.
• The Yoggtastic Tasties Quest Reward has been made harder to earn.
• The Enhance-a-matic Quest Reward has been made rarer and harder to earn.
In Duels, they also made several changes, such as banning Prince Renathal from all card pool buckets and reversed the ban on several cards.

Then on Friday the team released Patch Twenty Five Point Zero Point Three 25.0.3 and included card nerfs.

Here are the notes directly from the dev team:
Dev Comment: We set up this balance window to address any changes we wanted to make immediately after the expansion launched. Shockspitter is exactly that type of card, ending games sooner, more easily, and more consistently than we intended. Sire Denathrius is a card we have had our eyes on for some time, but we wanted to see how he performed in the new expansion first. With a couple days of data, we can see that it is still a very popular and polarizing card, warping early meta development in a way we want to address before the World Championship (December 16-18).
This balance update was reserved for only the most standout cards immediately after expansion unlock. We’ll continue to keep our eye on how the metagame develops and make any further adjustments needed in our next balance window, reserved for a few weeks from now.

Other Hearthstone News
There has been much discussion over Signature Cards, many users have complained about the style and overall look of them. While most understand the direction of the sepia tone in these, as they fit the theme of the expansion very well, most feel they are too bland. There is also feedback from the play base that it was not a good feeling that you can not disenchant these card styles.

On Friday Celestalon, features lead on PlayHearthstone, and the Lead on this specific expansion stated on Twitter:

"The Hearthstone team is always looking for ways to surprise and delight our players, which means trying new things, taking risks, and taking in feedback to iterate.

We heard your feedback and are taking it to heart—we’re already planning significant changes for our next round of Signature cards. More details to come soon."

In my opinion, this is very good news. This shows that our voices are absolutely heard. I would much rather the Hearthstone team take risks with new ideas, card types and the like, and miss the mark a little bit because that’s how we get cool things in game. This could absolutely be the precursor to something amazing, and without these new ideas being tested, we may not see anything new.

Be bold, Hearthstone Team, take risks! And thank you for listening to our feedback!
