Path of Exile - 3.8 Blight Ready Build Outlines - Cobra Lash Poison Assassin
153DISCLAIMER: This is a new skill. This build is untested. It seems solid in theory but no plan survives first contact with the enemy.
This build is squishy.
HC players, take note: it is MANDATORY to modify this for more life. You are vaguely near some semi-efficient life clusters; take them in HC.
Scaling angles for poison:
- Ailment or Poison or Chaos DOT multiplier. Crit is an option here. I don't follow it, as the build is squishy already.
- Increased Chaos damage, Poison Damage, Ailment Damage
- Posion Duration
- Poison chance (caps easily at 100%)
Ascendancy Nodes:
Noxious Strike mandatory. Take it in Normal Lab.
Mistweaver and Ambush and Assassinate are both very strong. Take them in Cruel and Merciless in either order.
Take any of the remaining options on your Eternal Lab. If in doubt, take Toxic Delivery.
Flasks - Seek out Coralito's Signature (huge poison duration increase). Atziri's Promise. At least one instant life flask and at least one quicksilver, rest to taste. MUST HAVE anti-bleed. You might also need a mana flask, this is hard to predict in advance.
When you can afford one, Witchfire Brew will be incredible.
Gems:
Link Cobra Lash - GMP - Nightblade - Unbound Ailments - Deadly Ailments - Vile Toxins. (Use a subset of these until you can source a six-link)
For durable bosses remove GMP, add Poison for 39% more damage (gem level 20)

Malevolence multiplies damage
Vaal Grace for defense
ALTERNATIVE: Blasphemy-Despair.
Utility Skills:
Blood Rage
Wither - Spell Totem Support - Faster Casting
(OPTIONAL) Golem
GUARD SKILL. Due to Phase Acro, Molten Shell is poor. Pick Immortal Call or Steelskin as per your personal taste. Experiment. Neither is right or wrong. INCREASED DURATION.
4L Whirling Blades - Fortify - Faster Attacks - Culling Strike (OR blood magic)
Gearing:
Start with 4L rares while levelling.
Endgame chest: 6L extremely high defenses chest, or Dendrobate, or Cherubrim's Malefiecence.
Offhand Leper's Alms (Eradicator T6+). Life/resist shield until then.
Jewellery mostly Corroded Fossil crafts. Don't neglect life/resists. Jewels same as jewellery.
Weapons
- Start with any mediocre physical weapon
- Graduate to ilvl 83 Gemini Claw, crafted with Malicious, Aug/Regal and attack speed. Source this from a set of Rabia Rhoa div cards from the boss of T4 Arid Lake, you can set up atlas to farm a few until you get one set that is good. Card drops a LOT.
- Graduate to Gemini Claw with Corroded Fossil exclusive mod and Malicious. Craft with Aberrant + Corroded on an 83 or higher base. Note these can land Despair on Hit too.
- Consider Wasp's Nest too.
