Path of Exile for TOTAL Beginners!
43This is a guide for complete beginners - when I started i collected these tips along the way and would have loved to have it right away.

1. Get the game - Steam or https://www.pathofexile.com
2. Find a build, ideally SSF and beginner friendly from a trustful source. It should have pobb or path of building link for you to follow.
3. Download Path of Building: https://pathofbuilding.community
4. Import your build in it and see the progression
5. Import your build into Leveling guide: https://heartofphos.github.io/exile-leveling/
6. Connect your accont to FilterBlade and create basic Loot Filter: https://www.filterblade.xyz
7. Get in game and adjust the settings, apply loot filter
8. Set yout active skills to "attack without moving", "move only" on left click
9. Gear-wise prioritize:
- Sockets of the right color, linking according to your build (you can change color with Chromatic orbs, and linking with Jeweler's orbs)
- Resistances (75% all res cap by end of Act 4), you will get Res penalties in Act 6 and after Act 10. Early on Vendor recipes for resistance rings are useful
- Maximum Life
- Move Speed on boots (vendor recipe - Quicksilver Flask, Normal Boots, Orb of Augmentation)
10. Update your flasks regularly, you can roll them into magic with 1 preffix and suffix. Good affixes:
- Instant Rcovery
- Immunity to Freeze
- Immunity to Bleed and Corrupted Blood
11. Crafting Bench - use it early on for Resistances Suffix to push your res; occasionally you can add or color sockets with it too, or add movement speed.
12. There are a lot of mechanics from different leagues, some are easier, some are harder. Some like Essences, Strongboxes, Harbinger are just encounters and once you deal with them it's over. Some like Delve or Heist are only dropping some key items, bu then entire mechanic is elsewhere. Choose 1-2-3 to learn and stick to it.

Path of Exile is an incredible game, but extrimely overwhelming and hard to get into. Upon my first playthrough i gathered several tips that helped me a lot and i'm happy to share with you. Take it easy and go step by step, you will be able to get into it gradually.
Remember you don't have to know everything to enjoy the game and have fun!
