Hello.
This is a build AND character created around the new upcoming sub_class in the ascendancy for the duelist: http://www.pathofexile.com/ascendancy/classes/Gladiator
The goal is to stack as much block/block_spell as possible AND to reach a good physical/elemental damage midigation.
But that's not all! Defense is good, but what about damage?
YES! The damage is good. Maybe not the best over all in this game; but since GGG has buffed 'wild strike' it is more than reasonable.
Pros:
1.) You can reach 78% block/spell_block and high elemental resistances.
2.) Clearspeed is OK, but not insane.
3.) Overcapped resitances; so you can easyly run high maps with 'elemental weakness'.
4.) Chosing one skill in the sub_class (25% chance gaining a frenzy charge on kill, you are not committed running 'blood rage'.
5.) Cannot be stunned -- cannot be frozen!
Cons:
1.) 'Soultaker' and 'the Anvil' is a 'must_have'! And better legacy; otherwise you hardly will reach max_block.(... and 'Alphas Howl' as well; but this is no problem.)
2.) To reach the maximum out of this build 2 legacy items are required: 'Anvil' and 'Crest of Perandus': Otherwise you will not reach the max. block.
3.) Chaos damage and damage_over_time is a problem.
4.) As mentioned above the gear_requirement is relativly high.
