GGG removed many interesting and useful interactions with the Atlas by making a bandaid change, which is now told us to be "working as intended" as an actual change to the systems instead of being a temporary fix. Or is it just a cover-up? It wouldn't be the first time they don't reveal information in hopes of something not becoming known.

If you open a map at a different tier (by using Zana shaped mods, or just using shaped/eldered versions of the map) than that in your Atlas, there is no influence whatsoever. This means you can't move your influence, run Strongholds as higher tier versions, are unable to use 3-to-1 recipes in shaped maps to obtain memory fragments and much more.

Mind-boggling.
