So, two years after starting it, I’m still playing Pathologic 2… and I haven’t yet completed it; I’m at day 8 (where I got to last time), but at least I’ve managed to develop a panacea. If I don’t starve to death, *maybe* this playthrough will be the one? Anyway, this is my way of saying ‘no spoilers please’ lol.
And if you haven’t played it yet, well… it’s an experience. Probably one of the best written games I’ve played in a long time with poetic dialogue and likeable, believable characters, and a setting that is as punishing as it is perplexing and beautifully bleak. I can’t recommend it more, tbh.
But anyway! In this Pathologic 2 inspired ASMR medical roleplay, Artemy Burakh, surgeon, menkhu, and haruspex, is delivering a softly spoken lecture about his experiences of brewing tinctures, field autopsies, and synthesising medicine. Here are the seminar notes:
00:00 – 11:38 – Abstract & Introduction (Абстрактный)
Where the Haruspex explains, in a soft spoken Russian accent, the purpose of the lecture and how he combines ancient menkhu tradition with contemporary scientific method to derive and surmise a panacea to prevalent pathogens.
11:38 – 27:21 – Tincture Brewing (Настойка)
Where the Haruspex explains the layers/lines/mete and demonstrates how to effectively identify, grind, and brew twyre (oxitocia tvirinum) herbs into tinctures for treatment.
i. Collection & Identification of Herbs
ii. Preparing tinctures for Yas (bone), Medrel (nerves), and Zürkh (blood)
iii. Administering fusions for prophylaxis, diagnosis, and treatment

Where the Haruspex dissects a cadaver and produced fairly gross mouth sounds to collect infected and healthy organs for use in antibiotic synthesis, pain killer creation, and treatment:
i. Understanding organs in relation to the mete
ii. Any affliction can be cured if one discovers which Layer has been poisoned
iii. Direct dissection, preparation and retrieval of the kidney, liver, and heart

Where the Haruspex reviews the theory and methodology of the surgeon and menkhu, and hypothesises regarding its real-world application.
i. To prepare adequately for pandemic
ii. To Know twyre, the seasons, and how to use them
iii. To understand the layers and lines, how all is connected
iv. To combine the body with the earth to treat symptoms
v. To develop a panacea to cut the line the pathogen follows
