15As payday approaches, we can all feel the pinch. But a new poll of 2,000 employed adults found that many of us are still quick to splash the cash once the money does come in, with more than £600 being spent on clothing, tech, and home furnishings in the first three days of each month.
Factor in bills and rent, and many of us are left counting the pennies for the remaining two weeks before the next payday arrives – and then we do it all again.
With this back-and-forth between feeling flush and being broke playing out so regularly, it’s no surprise that 37% of those polled admitted that if they could rob a bank and be guaranteed they’d get away with it, they’d do it.
Sounds like it’s time for a heist!
Noting that it’s Londoners who struggle the most with their money management, PAYDAY 3 publishers PLAION set up a cross-city challenge in the English capital, where members of the public could follow the money to a secret location and secure a “month’s average salary” by stripping PAYDAY 3-themed dollar bills from a specially branded van.
Over 2000 notes were grabbed from the vehicle in under 10 minutes, with those lucky enough to bag a limited ‘winner’ variant being entered into a draw for the prize loot.
