Fix missing gpu so you can run your games

1. Download windows MediaCreationTool: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 Click on the link in blue that says "Download tool now" under Create Windows 10 Installation Media

2. Run MediaCreationTool, select "Upgrade this PC now" and then "next" at the bottom right. Once it has finished letting you know it is ready to install and will keep all your personal files and applications click "Install"

3. Once it restarts it will look like its performing the first time installation but don't worry your files are still there. Your gpu should be present now along with Nvidia Control Panel.

4. Don't try to run the nvidia drivers it will just fail like it did before. Wait until windows comes out with another update and hope it fixes the issue before attempting to install the nvidia drivers yourself again.

OBS Download and the Settings I'm currently using for (i5-2500k processor and GTX 970)

1. OBS Download: https://obsproject.com/ Install the program.

2. Bottom right under "Scenes" click on the + simple and name it. I just set mine as Youtube Recording

3. To the right of it under "Sources" click on the + and select "Window Capture" create new.

4. Double click on "Window Capture" and make sure "Multi-adapter Compatibility" is checked off and under the "Window Match Priority" options above it that "Match title, otherwise find window of same executable is selected." Hit ok.

5.To the far right under "Controls" select "Settings" and go to the "Output" tab on the left side. Set "Output Mode" at the top to "Advanced"

6. For "Streaming" and "Recording" tabs make certain you have these same settings as I put below. "Recordings" tab will have "Recording Path" option where you just select where you want the recordings to go by clicking "Browse" on the right of it.

Encoder: NVENC H.264

Rate Control: CQP

CQP: 20

Keyframe Interval: 0

Preset: Default

Profile: Main

Level: Auto

Uncheck Two-Pass Encoding

GPU: 0

B-frames: 2

Click "apply" when your finished with the changes.

7. Go to the "Audio" tab and work these settings.

Sample Rate: Make it the same as your settings for sound. I have mine at 48khz

Channels: Stereo

Desktop Audio Device: Whatever your using to listen to the game. I have my headphones selected.

Mic/Auxiliary Audio Device: Microphone (High Definition Audio Device)

Click "Apply"

8. Go to "Video" tab and set "Base (Canvas)" to what resolution your gaming with and "Output (Scaled)" to whatever resolution you want the video to come out at. So if your gaming at 1080p but want the recorded video at 720, you'd make output at 720p.

Downscale Filter: I chose "Bilinear" for scaling, the other options will increase the chance of lag in your video so just test them out and go with how you feel in the results.

Common FPS Values: I chose 60fps since that is what I'm recording in. If you prefer a different fps go for it.

Click "Apply"

9. Go to "Hotkeys" tab and make "Start Recording" and "Stop Recording" the same button. It will let you start and stop with the same click. Of course if you prefer to have one different from the other go for it. I have both set to "Insert" key.

Click "Apply"

10. Go to "Advanced" tab and set these settings

Process Priority: Normal (I believe you go for higher if you decided to use your processer instead of gpu for rendering. Haven't messed with rendering with the i5)

Renderer: Direct3D 11

Color Format: NV12

YUV Color Space: 709

YUV Color Range: Full

Click "Apply" and "Ok"

11. From what I did research I have my ingame settings to "windowed fullscreen"

12. Now to note you don't get any notification that its recording once you begin like with Shadowplay. What I do is turn on the game, alt-tab to OBS and double click on "Window Capture" under sources to make certain it has the title of my game in the window tab. I hit "ok" from there, switch back to my game and then click my record button. When I'm finished I click it again and done.
