After many years Sector666 is updating "Permutations of Hell", making it a more-balanced and detailed experience. Here is a playthrough of a release candidate version. The aesthetics of this map remind me of the hell levels of the more modern games in the Doom series as it takes place in a hellish void with floating structures of torture and madness. Thus it distinguishes itself from the hell levels in Doom 64. As you progress through the level you go through different "permutations" of the hellish structure. There are some very trippy effects going on with scrolling textures and the lighting; it is very nice. Cut scenes are added to help you progress the level. Throughout there will be choices in paths which change the fights that happen and the weapons you get. So definitely replay this and try different paths!
