This is an optional fight as you do it to complete the first guild job. I did it after exploring the crash site next to Nayla. If you are too weak yet at this point of the game you can do it latter, but don't wait the very end of the game as this guild job can not be finished at this point. Having Rika reaching level 13 so she can cast Deban should be enough to make this fight very easy.
Use macros if you want to trigger Blizzard, without them chances are close to none.
If you don't want to use Blizzard, use Hahn's Wat to exploit its water weakness and use Alys' Shift upon everyone but Hahn.
To have a Wood Cane, the easiest is to remove it from Rune before he leaves the team.
