Philippines Battles Health Inequities: From Medical Costs To Worker Shortage | CNA Correspondent
Healthcare emergencies in the Philippines have the potential to plunge families into debt. With over 40% of healthcare costs paid out of pocket, surpassing regional averages, the burden is immense. The Philippine government aims to reduce this to 28% by 2028. Despite efforts, the exodus of healthcare workers abroad exacerbates the issue, especially in remote areas.
