One of my favorite classes I ever took in college was an animation course called The Animated Film as Text where I learned about the birth of the art form through the present day. This was my final paper for that class where I compared similar techniques revolving around philosophy, film theory (discussing hauntology, reflexivity, and shock factor particularly), and how ideals are best expressed in the animated world using the work of acclaimed WB animator, Tex Avery, and Trey Parker and Matt Stone's controversial show, South Park as examples.

Forgive the quality of some of the clips - had to go quite far back for a few of them. I also noticed a couple audio blips after uploading - not sure what happened there, sorry about that! Also, we're obviously talking about South Park, so viewer discretion is advised.
