This is an early look at next year's Phoenix Point turn based strategy game. In this pre-alpha release we are allowed to share and also provide feedback while finding bugs in the game. It is currently limited to combat scenarios only. All mechanics, graphics and sounds are completely subject to change as the game continues to develop. Not sure when BB4 is coming, but this build gives us the geoscape, more tactical missions and Alien Bases. Woo!

Phoenix Point is a re-imagining of the turn based combat strategy X-COM UFO Defense game from the 90s. It is being developed by Julian Gollop of Snapshot Games, it's has been described as a Spiritual Successor to the first X-COM. Loved it then, and am loving where this new game is headed. I've been reading the lore available on their info website (https://phoenixpoint.info/archives/), and am pleasantly surprised to learn that this world has a survival horror backdrop. This threat feels much more terrestrial, than extra. I'm getting some real H.P. Lovecraft vibes from a number of stories. There is something else going on here, and I can't wait to see the story unfold in its entirety.
