DO NOT TRY THIS METHOD. JUST WATCH and READ DESCRIPTION. Edit (04/01/2020): sorry if the this video misled anyone. I only wanted to try a method that was posted online and post the results. They're not pretty as you can tell! I've done this again but for a few more hours and with over 40 bags of fish bait I made from Manilla clams from my and my friend's beach. Nothing. So don't try this method to get the Golden Trout!

I tried to catch the Golden Trout according to this guide written by Gavin Lane (http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2020/03/guide_animal_crossing_new_horizons_golden_trout_-_where_when_and_how_to_catch_the_rare_golden_trout) from "nintendo life," and I could not for the life of me find the Golden Trout! I stayed up most of the night trying to look for it but after a few hours and hundreds of baits. Nothing. The article said after 7-8 tries, so either Gavin is super super super lucky or it actually takes hours and hours of trying.
