123Quite a good run in all areas!
What's craziest is that I got 4 sprays from BLL. With the current route, I reset if I get 0 sprays, skip the jar spicy in SS with 1, and speed up the tunnel in HH with 2. I had never planned for 4 sprays! So in this run I just ended up skipping the spicy butterfly in BA and using another spicy in SS to speed up my walking on the way to Bulblax. Did these sprays make the run much better? No, not really.
As opposed to 2 sprays, 4 saves 5s. I've beaten all the IL times without the extra sprays, so it wasn't really needed. I'm especially not happy with my BA, something about it just felt slow while I was playing it. I know I have large timesave there with this current route.
The route has changed massively. CCCharge and I developed new strategies independently of each other, he would go on to get WR with them first which was a nice surprise. The idea of bombing BLL's mitites and getting the third bomb in SST came from Winston, and CCCharge and I both came up with the idea of letting the pikmin that gets that bomb die. CC collects the bomb at the end of the day but I get it while the bridge is being built.
The stunt up to the bolt in HH is now extremely consistent! It doesn't even need the extra spicy reroute that was forced by the previous meta. I came up with the route that would use the jump at the ledge, but CC instead used the clay pile to stunt up. At first I didn't think it was better, but Winston found a setup which requires charging into the wall so you are nearly at the right spot already. I then came up with the final puzzle piece which uses the fully below camera angle, using the visual cue of how close the left foot is to the floor. Once you learn it, you can tell the stunt will work or if you need adjustment, something that previously was just feel/ luck based.
My HH route changed since the video I uploaded:
- If I have an extra spicy I'll speed up the tunnel.
- I use 10 reds on the radio instead of 20 total carriers, so I don't have to wait for it.
- I get 3 more reds just after the gildemander fight so that I can put them on the bolt and have the yellows on the electric gate.
