Pinball Fantasies Intro Soundtrack on IBM PC PS/2 8580 / Covox Speech Thing
58My IBM PS/2 Model 80 8580 running Pinball Fantasies with intro music played on Covox Speech Thing attached to the parallel port.
This is a 386-16 system with VGA onboard introduced March 1987. Covox Speech Thing is basically a simple DAC from a resistor grid giving about 8 bit resolution mono. It was a very simple yet effective hack to playback digitized sound compared to PC speaker beeps.
