A look back at the classic arcade brawler, Pit Fighter! First published by Atari in the U.S. back in 1990, and later in Japan by Konami, Pit Fighter was a fighting game developed using a blue screen recording process that featured real human props in the form of digitized live actors. The character's movements were actual replays of previously recorded real human movements.

The game was given rave reviews by critics at the time. This was despite the fact the game's characters featured extremely limited mobility, having very few attack maneuvers, and the characters themselves more closely resembled stick figures than real life actors.

Nonetheless, Pit Fighter was an innovative feat for its time, and it was a title that would help to define the fighting game genre.
