Flugmodus Is a new techno and ambient imprint run by DJ ÆRTIM and futureremnants. The first release starts with the Berlin-based DJ & Producer couple Planetary Echoes & Janet Vokes. Their highly musical techno sound incorporates elements created on modular synthesizers with spiritual female vocals and atmospheric sci-fi sounds.

The vision of Janet Vokes with this track, was to guide the listener on a dreamy, often mellow journey, conjuring a sense of spirituality and wild imagination, whilst maintaining a pulsing techno rhythm. Many of the lush soundscapes and textures, were created using a modular synth and this gives the track an organic, analogue feel. The production approach of the duo walks a fine line between giving the listener what they think they need in the club, and providing something alltogether different and more atmospheric. “The creative process of this track was like finding pieces that were always meant to be together, and them just falling into place. We created a groove to this track that is hard to ignore with its textured, grainy kick and clean percussive sounds” This mix of the percussion and the more atmospheric vibes gives the feeling of floating in a cloud of dense vapour, with crisp hi-hats falling like giant sharpened raindrops smoothed by an elegant touch of white noise in the background and melting into the thick analogue pad section. The mental image created for the listener is of concrete urban structures, inside a dense fog punctuated by the multi-coloured, vivid lights of a distant city.

The second track is a remix directly from ÆRTIM himself. The aim was to create a big room club track from this analogue modular masterpiece. The remix takes a fragment of the original track with much more dancefloor friendly percussion. ÆRTIM has tried to handle the vocals respectfully to maintain the spiritual feeling but with a mainroom techno feel. Guaranteed to keep the dancefloor moving at peak time!
