PLANTS VS. ZOMBIES 2 COMING TO iOS (Escapist News Now)
Plants vs Zombies 2: It's About Time will be coming to the App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch on July 18th, and yep, the game is free-to-play.
Plants vs. Zombies 2 is the latest in a huge lineup of free-to-play iOS games but Popcap assures fans, "The vast majority of the game will be entirely free-to-play...players can face every zombie and access every level in every world at no cost."
The gameplay features levels set in different eras of time including The Future, Ancient Egypt, and The Wild West. The gameplay is largely the same where you defend your house with various types of plants against incoming zombie hordes. There will be new touch interface mechanics that allow players to "break the fourth wall" and interact with zombies directly.
Crazy Dave also returns to serve as your guide and shopkeeper so you can purchase upgrades weapons, this time for REAL money. There will be new power-ups and game mechanics to assist you in your fight against the zombies.
