Plasma Sword [Arcade] - play as Bilstein
This is a play-through using Bilstein in the Arcade version of Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein. Read on below for more information...
Bilstein is the main boss on Stage 8 of this game. He is a regular selectable character.
===== About Bilstein =====
Dr. Edward Bilstein is a mad cybernetic scientist who is the leader of the Fourth Empire and has plans to conquer the universe. Design-wise, he is obviously inspired by Darth Vader.
Gameplay-wise, Bilstein is quite a good character... he generally inflicts high depletion, and he has good combo ability as well. His Gigantic Explosion is a Level 3 super, but unless you can guarantee to defeat your opponent with it, it's not worth using it in normal play. Instead, use it when in his Plasma Field Infinity Power. Also, his Invisibility move is somewhat useless, because even if he does use it, you can still see his sword!
===== Additional Information =====
---- His Stage 5 mid-boss is Ghost Bilstein; his Stage 8 boss is Hayato; and his personal final boss is Blood.
---- The game is known as Star Gladiator 2: Nightmare of Bilstein in Japan.
---- Rimgal (the dinosaur) and Kappah are the only characters from the prequel to not make it into Plasma Sword.
===== About Plasma Sword =====
This is the sequel to Star Gladiator 1, and it runs on the ZN-2 arcade hardware. This meant that it is able to have much better graphics than the sequel (which was on the ZN-1), as well as being able to run at 60fps.
The game is basically a futuristic sword fighter, largely inspired by the Star Wars franchise. The fighting system and mechanics is very typical of a Capcom fighting game... it's a bit like Street Fighter with swords and "dial-a-combos". The character roster is certainly diverse, with robots, mechs, monsters and creatures as well as humans.
