PRESENTATION - From the developers that previously brought you LIMBO, Playdead introduces the settings of INSIDE with a number of incredibly artistic and aw-inspiring environments. Whether you're being chanced through a spooky forest, investigating an abandoned factory, or being submerged within a sub-marine underwater, Playdead has somehow created a patented formula that challenges players themselves to discover the narrative of the game rather then just simply showcasing it to you.
CREATIVITY - Each puzzle that you stumble upon while playing INSIDE is uniquely its own, separating each stage of the game into small memorable moments, but when combined together form a gaming experience that requires environmental awareness and patients. Some may take a matter of seconds to solve where as others might take a tad bit longer. However, none of them are ever overly frustrating. This is mainly due to the fact that the complexity of each puzzle is contrasted so well with how simple the gameplay is. No matter how long it ever takes you to find a solution, you know that moving on is just a simple button press away.
LONGEVITY - As you make your way towards discovering each of the hidden orbs that are littered throughout the game, you'll begin to pick up on some beautifully crafted artistic irony, symbolism, and fan theories in regards to the plot. Not only are each of these locations worth a combined total of 1,000 gamerscore, but for the less enthusiastic achievement hunters out there, by collecting all of them, you unlock an alternate ending to the game. It's a plot twist that caps off would could quite possibly be THE most engaging experience that I've had this year and makes a second, if not a third play-through, as must.
