We’re playing The Sims Medieval!
A Sims game that you might think is “Sims, but it’s medieval” but it has more layers than that! Mixing up elements from RPG’s, Kingdom-builders, normal Sims games (and pop culture references from 2011), it’s a strange game and piece of Sims-history that I put a lot of hours into as a teen… So we’re going to play it! And of course, overanalyze what makes it fun, bad, or weird! And in the meantime, we might get a bit TOO invested into the lore we’re building for these characters.
As a player, you play the role as The Watcher, creating Hero Sims that you control and help through different questlines. Hero Sims all have their own “Classes”, have different skills, and will be able to solve the questlines in different ways.
Our Kingdom is called Sevona, and its monarch is Lady Petunia Whalefiend (Trait: Entitled, Flaw: Bloodthirsty). Her parents were tragically eaten by whales, and she is now on a quest to avenge them and defeat the whales once and for all. Therefore, all the Heroes have “Whales ate my parents” as one of their 2 traits, which is a game move that we now call “doing a The Whales Ate Everyone’s Parents-run”. In her quest she is trying to surround herself with people to help her on her way, including:

Blacksmith – Ruth Smith (Unkempt, Morose)
Knight – Julian Chincilabane (Chivalrous, Hubris)
Spy – Ravenicus O’midnight (Vain, Weak Constitution)
Wizard – Andromeda Fae (Greedy, Cursed)
Peteran Priest – Helga Hellkeeperout (Eloquent, Drunkard)
Bard - Elfred Hu-man (Good, Uncouth)
Merchant - Franzisca Fae (Evil, Puny)
