Mario Kart Wii was officially replaced by Mario Kart 7 in 2011. This being said, with the 3DS game not living up to many people's expectations, the game has proceeded to become less and less popular over the years. With Nintendo recently announcing the game's online servers (as well as all other 3DS and Wii U online services) will be shutting down in April of 2024, it seemed appropriate to take a look back at Mario Kart 7's online features and functionalities.
