Playing TimeSplitters 2 in 2024 Part One

It's time to split.....again.....:D
TimeSplitters 2 released in 2002 and is easily one of the best games on the 6th generation of consoles if not one of the best games ever made. The story mode has an actual story albeit with short cutscenes that does connect to the plot (Future Perfect would further develop the story and characters) with the story mode itself being a lot more in depth in terms of objectives and gameplay. The gameplay itself has improved a lot with the aiming being more precise alongside with the difficulty actually making a difference not just in the enemy AI, damage intake and output, but the amount of primary secondary objectives plus having mid-mission checkpoints (although only one mission has more than one checkpoints). Not to mention the weapons have more variety and nearly all of them pack quite a punch. The multiplayer returns with more modes, maps, bots, etc alongside with the added challenge mode (at least it's unlocked from the start) and arcade league which are pre-made arcade-style missions. All of these are such a enjoy to play.
The game is not with its flaws has the enemy AI tend to be dumb at times and on higher difficulty tend to be aimbots most of the time. Some missions such as the infamous Atom Smasher and Robot Factory even on easy difficulty will test your patience with its questionable level design, ruthless enemies, and the tight time limit of the former. Not to mention getting the highest available trophies on arcade league, mainly platinum, requires the upmost luck and skill despite certain levels having some of the cheapest tactics they can throw at you (lookin' at you...ugh..."Can't Handle This") .
Overall, this is a game that you have to play at least once if you are interested on first-person shooter games and especially you have enjoyed a lot of TimeSplitters 1 play this a lot.
