Warrior’s Heart (2005) by Jackie Kramer is a short romance novella about Jake Lone Wolf, a man wrongfully imprisoned for five years due to the machinations of his bigoted brother-in-law, Judge Richard Culvers. After his release, Jake returns to Capston, Oklahoma, seeking vengeance and custody of his daughter, Audrey, who was adopted by Richard and his wife, Vicky, after Jake's wife's death. Upon meeting Vicky, who is struggling to run an ostrich farm on her own, Jake takes a job on her ranch, assuming she will recognize him. However, Vicky has no idea of his connection to Audrey. As they work together to save the ranch, Jake and Vicky are drawn to each other despite their complicated history. Eventually, their growing love for each other and their shared love for Audrey overcome the past, and true love prevails.
