PlugBug Adapter from Twelve South (Review)
The Plug Bug is one of those products that seems so incredibly obvious, you sort of wonder what took so long for it to come to market. The device essentially attaches to Apple's laptop brick and adds a USB port for charging. The power brick for Apple's MacBooks have a little slide out piece which allows users to connect directly to the wall or use a power cable for longer length. Twelve South appears to have come up with a cool idea of how to piggy back a USB power outlet using this connector.
This would be handy for travelers looking to save space while packing and also utilizing a single power outlet to charge both a laptop and a USB device. The USB power port will charge an iPhone, iPod, or iPad. Additionally, the USB port is 10 watt power outlet, which means it will charge the iPad as quickly as possible. When using a computer, this means not dedicating a computer USB port for charging, and when the computer is asleep you can be assured the iDevice is charging as quickly as possible.
The PlugBug has a list price of $34.95. Twelve South says the adapter works on all MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro adapters.
