Pokémon Bank Update! Gen 7 Compatible! + New Mobile App Game: Pokémon Duel!
Welcome back, Pokémon Trainers! It's time again for a weekly news update video thingy!
- Once again, I've got a Pokémon TCG booster packs to open up! This week will be BREAKthrough, with the code card (as always) going out to one lucky viewer. I'll open up the booster near the end of the video, and give you viewers the Question of the Day to respond to. Leave your response in a comment down below using the hashtag #QOTD, and you'll be entered into the running to receive the code card (chosen randomly) when I do the drawing this coming Sunday, February 5.
- The long-awaited update to Pokémon Bank has finally arrived! If you have Pokémon Bank purchased on your 3DS system, head over to the eShop to update the title to allow for connectivity with the Gen 7 games of Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon! Finally, all of our warriors from past generations can now make their way to the Alola region to join the current generation of Pokémon and online competitions. The Virtual Console rereleases of Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue, and Pokémon Yellow are also now compatible with Pokémon Bank and Pokémon Sun/Moon, meaning you can upload Pokémon directly from Gen 1 games right into Gen 7. I hear tell that such Pokémon are given special bonuses, such as a guaranteed 3 maximum IV, plus their hidden ability...
- Along with the update to Pokémon Bank comes a special unique item being given out by Brigette, the technician in charge of running the Bank service. Update the title and log in now to receive the rare Mewnium-Z, which is (of course) the Mythical Pokémon Mew's specific Z Crystal, which powers up its Psychic attack into the powerful Genesis Supernova, an attack with the secondary effect of making the battlefield "weird" by laying Psychic Terrain down afterwards (a condition that prevents the use of all speed priority attacks).

- A new mobile game is now available for download for Android and Apple devices called Pokémon Duel. In this strategic online game, your goal is to move your team of 6 Pokémon from your starting location to a goal zone before your opponent does the same. As your Pokémon cross paths with opposing Pokémon, you enter into a battle against the opponent, with the potential of the winner knocking the target back on their path to the goal. With lots of Pokémon to collect along the way, and countless team combinations to choose from, this title is filled with strategic potential.

- A couple of comprehensive guides for various side features in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon have been posted on Pokemon.com. First is a guide focusing on the Poké Pelago, and the various islands thereof. Learn how to max out your bean collection and your berry harvests, find out the potential for boosting stats and friendship of your Pokémon, and even begin hatching plenty of Pokémon eggs without having to place them in your party! Also, a guide on the Festival Plaza is available, letting you know the finer details of the various attractions to be found and introduced into your own Plaza, and how to get the most out of each one of them. Looking to boost your Pokémon's EVs, find cheap deals on Poké Balls or other items, and even obtain such rare collectibles as Gold Bottle Caps? This guide is a great way to get you started!

- The Pokémon Global Link has posted a very interesting news article in regards to players' save files that have been determined to contain illegally-modified data. Nearly 6,000 players have had their online access restricted, being excluded from the rankings of any Rating Battles they've played thus far, as well as exclusion from all future Online Competitions, Game Sync, Rating Battles, and Global Missions. There may be more bans to come in the future, as well.
