1. Restart your phone or tablet and then try re launching the app. You might also want to leave either one off for a good 5-10 minutes if you think there is an overheating issue going on
2. Another thing you can do is close all of the running apps you have open. This can work well since having too many apps running at once can slow other apps down. Try doing a quick restart when your done doing this
3. Also check to see if the app or your phone are due for an update which can fix any bugs or glitches the app might be having
4. If pokemon go keeps lagging still try to clear out some space on your phone or tablet. If your close to being out of storage or close to it this can cause some lag on the app
