Pokémon Go - Platinum medal for Best Buddies
4So I finally got there!
Initially I went pretty hard at this medal when gold (100 best buddies) was the highest to achieve. However, when I was less than 10 away from gold, Niantic introduced platinum medals and moved the goal posts far far away!
When that happened, I stopped grinding it and took it a lot more casually (going from using all 20 swaps on 10 Pokémon a day, to working on 2-3 Pokémon per day with 5-6 swaps.
However, once I was within 20 of platinum, the intention was to always grind out the remainder of the buddies required.
As you’ll see with the IV’s of the Pokémon in the 2nd half of the video, a fair few of the buddies are hundo’s. I also tried best buddying at least 1 of each legendary, mythical and ultra beast (notable exceptions are origin Palkia and Dialga, and the currently untradeable Zygarde). Others were buddied because I could (shinys) and for those that don’t have great IV, they were done for candies as they Pokémon itself wasn’t prevalent in the wild at the time.
