After countless hours of prep work to fill in the void left by the inability to play Civ V, we finally begin a new series to fill in the void. Come join me as we embark on a journey through one of my favorite games from one of my favorite game series... only things are a little different. It's time for a Randomized Nuzlocke of Pokemon Platinum!

| Rules |
1) Any Pokémon that faints is considered dead & must be stored permanently.
2) You may only catch the first Pokémon encountered in each area.
~~~ 2b) If a double battle, you can choose which to catch.
3) You must nickname all your Pokemon (which I already do).
4) Game must be played in "Set" Battle Style.

Species/Dupes Clause: If the Pokemon is a species that has already been caught, you may try again.
~~~ Can retry up to 3 times per area. 4th Pokemon automatically considered to be an encounter.
Gift Clause: Gift Pokemon do not count as an encounter for the area it is received in.
Shiny Clause: If the Pokemon is a shiny, you may catch & use it. Does not count as an encounter.
Legend Clause: You must catch all Legendary Pokemon. They do not count as encounters & may not be used.
~~~ If knocked out, or it runs away, you must try again when it re-appears.
~~~ If it does not re-appear, you may restart from a save, but any deaths carry over.
Continue? Clause: Only the death of all usable Pokemon ends the Nuzlocke. Blackouts do not end the Nuzlocke.

5) These rules do not take effect until you obtain your first Pokeballs, by purchase OR gift.


| Randomization |
1) Starter Pokemon are randomized to be another basic Pokemon with 2 more stages of evolutions.
2) Wild Pokemon randomized with Area 1-1 Mapping.
~~~ Each Pokemon in an area will be changed to a random Pokemon in every "slot" it appears in in that area.
~~~ This means that that every time that Pokemon appears in that area, at any time, it will be replaced by the same Pokemon.
~~~ 2b) Pokemon will be of similar strength (weaker basics early on, stronger evos later).
~~~ 2c) Legendary Pokemon excluded.
3) Static Pokemon are changed to similar random Pokemon.
~~~ Legendaries become other Legendaries, Non-Legndaries become other Non-Legendaries.
4) Trainer Pokemon are random with Type-Themes.
~~~ 4b) Gym Trainers & Leaders are given a single type-theme per Gym.
~~~ 4c) Rival will carry their starter throughout the game.
~~~ 4d) Will attempt to replace Pokemon with others of similar strength (Levels always the same).
~~~ 4e) Legendary Pokemon excluded.
~~~ 4f) No Pokemon with Wonder Guard (Shedinja) early-game.
5) Trainer Names & Class Names are randomized.
6) In-Game Trades are randomized in what Pokemon are Requested & Received.
~~~ 6b) Pokemon Nicknames, OTs, & IVs are randomized.
7) All items in item-balls & hidden items are randomly shuffled to other item-balls & hidden item locations.
~~~ TMs remain in the same item balls, but the normal TMs received from them are shuffled to other TM-balls.
8) Change impossible evolutions (those requiring trades) to be level-based (or level-with-item-based).
