Hey there! In this video, my Victini EX deck is taking on the ever-dangerous Darkrai/Laser deck of NastyPlot!

My deck is focused around a very early Victini EX, preferably with Victory Piece. Victini EX allows you to attach two basic energy from your deck to your bench in any way you like, for just one Fire energy. This means you can very quickly set up heavy hitters for turn-2 attacks, which is really good. Victini's second attack is nothing special, but it WILL do enough to 2HKO EX's without Eviolite so it can make for a very strong first-turn attack from these big basic decks.

Enter Victory Piece. While using your Ace SPEC card for a Tool that can easily be discarded with Tool Scrapper is not normally a good thing, this deck is perfectly fine with such a restriction. Victory Piece allows Victini EX to attack for 0 energy, meaning that you can either play three energy onto one benched pokémon on the first turn or straight up deal 100 damage with no energy cost to a lead EX. With 4 Skyla in the deck, along with 4 Victini EX, it's highly possible that this can be pulled off, allowing for some powerful early-game plays.

Since Victini needs Fire energy to attack, Reshiram seems like an obvious choice for pokémon to use. The best other choice I can see is using Fighting energy, which otherwise has no acceleration, using Landorus EX as the attacker. Landorus is very good early-game if you have to lead with it, and accelerating Fighting onto it allows for Land's Judgement to come into play quickly. The other two attackers are simply Mewtwo and Tornadus, as they do not have any specific energy requirements to attack and will benefit from any energy you can accelerate onto them. Finally, Virbank/Lasers are used to amplify the damage output to more typical levels for this format.

It seemed to work surprisingly well, given that I built this deck half an hour before streaming! I haven't played a Blastoise deck with this yet, and I do feel like it may suffer with all the water weakness in that matchup, but it shouldn't be an auto-loss if you can get a quick Victini out. Landorus can OHKO anything in that deck with Laserbank and a full-power Land's Judgement, and really you could just focus on Tornadus and Mewtwo the whole way and PROBABLY be ok. I dunno, it would need some playing against that deck to see.
