When I was routing and sometime after doing manipless runs, I found some encounter manips, but I wasn't sure how to make them consistent in Yellow. Since I felt like doing this run to round out my year of runs, I took some time to learn how manips work in this game. After a few days of routing and rerouting, I decided to do a test run to make sure the route worked. I made some minor mistakes here and there, messed up the item route in the late game, and had a bad Agatha fight. On the flip side, I had no encounter IGT's, solid catch luck, and a third try Voltorb catch. I'm happy with this run, but I bet a pro runner could find a better route, better manips with yoloballs, incorporate Forest and Moon manips, and sub three hours.

If anyone wants to beat this with manips, I learned that team and box structure matters. For example, having Pikachu in the party instead of being in the box or having a team of five instead of a team of six can affect manips.

I also want to do this run without OHKO moves, but I'll need to route that one out first. Some of the manips and strats I used in this run I can also use in that run.
