PokeRogue 10/14/24 stream - was trying to take notes on how the double battle auto endure works.
Most of these notes may or may not be accurate. As soon as I started jotting down my observations I started seeing differences in the stuff I had written down, but here they are:
If you swap a Pokemon in after the initial two Pokemon are sent out before the battle starts, it sometimes negates the auto endure. If the opposite Pokemon uses a priority move, it seems to negate the auto endure as well.
There's also around a 1% or less chance of there being no auto endure with the initial Pokemon sent out and the only action being your main Pokemon attacking and wiping out the opposite Pokemon, but this is very very rare, only happening twice for me that I can remember since the endure mechanic was changed. It also happened once after I started taking these notes!
No clue if any of this means anything or not, and in reality it doesn't matter because this is just how the game seems to work(?) now.
The endless run is going okay, seen quite a few shinies today, catching legendaries for candies as well. I think after I'm done with this endless run I want to do some classic and check out the mystery encounters since I haven't done that yet.
At the end of the stream I was looking into other flinchers I could potentially use and I think I'm going to try Aerodactyl over Tyranitar because it can do all the same stuff as far as having a multi target flinch move and a single target flinch move, still gets Crunch, but also flies to avoid Earthquake and would only require two Wide Lense instead of three.
Only major thing I give up doing this is Sand Stream which is really useful but I think it might be better overall not having to swap Pokemon to Earthquake then swap to be able to catch something in double battles and would save a lot of time of over the course of a run. I'll just have to try it and see how it feels.
I also looked in Pokemon with Snow Warning since it's basically the same as Sand Stream. The only reasonable Pokemon that gets it is Articuno, but Articuno only has Air Slash for flinching and no multi target flinch moves that I can find. Nothing else with Levitate or flying type gets it that I saw.
Red shinies - caught: Avalugg, and Bellossom.
