Welcome to Part 5 of our '2001 Retrospective', in which Poparena and I confront Confused Matthew's controversial review of '2001: A Space Odyssey'.

In response to CM's disparaging 'crap floating in space' line, we cite examples of films with long stretches of nothing happening, such as 'Lawrence of Arabia', and stress their dramatic effect. We then question whether CM could appreciate any media with subtle scenes or qualities against the normal grain.
