Power Interview: Samy Uziel, Technical Director at Datora
0🏗 ️ Poder Infra | Datora's technical director, Samy Uziel, highlighted the need for public policy to define the evolution of the IoT (Internet of Things). In an interview with Poder360 senior editor Guilherme Waltenberg, he emphasized that there needs to be predictability regarding taxes and spectrum use, for example, to ensure long-term business outcomes.
Uziel also emphasized the importance of continuing the exemption for IoT devices, provided for in Law 14.108 of 2020. The measure is in effect until December 31, 2025, and waives the payment of some taxes.
"You're subsidizing on one hand, but you're indirectly collecting much higher amounts than we initially anticipated. This encourages entrepreneurs to invest more, seek new solutions, and bring jobs and indirect profits to the Union and Brazil," he stated.
He participated in the 5th TelComp 2025 Symposium - Telecom, Technology, and Competition for the Digital Future, this Wednesday (August 20, 2025), the second day of the event. The seminar is organized by Telcomp (Brazilian Association of Competitive Telecommunications Service Providers) and is fully covered by the digital newspaper Poder360.
