What happens when you convert a video of part of a favorite video game to a video format, known as Cinepak, that has not been updated since 1993 and at only 256 colors? You end up with this!

Today, we have the FMV intro from the 2004 Nintendo Gamecube game Mario Power Tennis encoded in Cinepak! Surprisingly, the low color pallet [256 versus several million colors available in the 24 and 32-bit color standards] seemed to work well most of the time. We can only wonder what might have happened if Nintendo had given us a Mario cartoon series of this caliber CG and comedy-wise. Of course, they would also have used a much broader color pallet. XD
