Prepping My Tundra for a Truck Camper - Fixing the RUST
It’s time to prepare my 2007 Toyota Tundra for the Tune Outdoor M1 Camper install! Before the camper goes on, I needed to address some serious rust issues hiding under the bed liner. After pulling the liner off, I found holes caused by trapped water, so we got to work cutting out the rust and welding in fresh steel.
To keep the bed protected long-term, we coated the welded areas with Steel-It and painted the entire bed white for added protection against future rust. We also started sealing up any gaps to make sure the bed is as airtight as possible before the camper is mounted.
If you’re thinking about installing a camper on your truck, don’t skip this step! Water and rust can cause serious damage if left unchecked. Watch the full process to see how we tackled the problem and prepped the Tundra for its next adventure!
