It's interesting to see how some moments feel off or look strange when the original clip is in view for comparison, and then look just fine with only the in-game footage on-screen... and vice-versa for other moments. The color correction definitely has influence over this. There is something about making these videos that takes my mind hostage and doesn't release it unless I break free and just stop working on the project. If I don't force myself to stop, I could end up just ironing out small details until the end of time.
This whole video comes from a few months ago when I went "hey that's kinda weird, the Caucasian custom skater kinda looks like Filipe Mota." And then I just started working on the project, and WHAT A RIDE IT HAS BEEN. Some of these tricks took multiple days of attempts to get it to look just right by glitching animations, counting seconds between tricks and pushes, and even then I had to settle for some of them looking sub-par, so that I don't lose my mind. At one point I lost half of the footage due to a dumb mistake on my part and had to re-shoot, but by then I was already fully committed, having released the "remaking the Hollywood 16 FS Hurricane" video so I had no choice. This whole project felt like something straight outta Thrasher's "My War" series. I'm planning on making a "BTS / making-of" video to show you all of it, I have a lot of show-and-tell about making this video lol.
This game is a full-blown hobby and videos like this are my way of expressing gratitude to Creature Studios, to Primitive which is one of my fav brands at this point, to the Skate Gods and Skateboarding in general.
No stats to write about, I change my physics and stats to optimize for every trick.
