7So the closed Beta for Prodeus, an upcoming hyperviolent retro-FPS, kicked of yesterday and...
...it's very, very good. Managing to walk the fine line between retraux pixellation and quality visual design, everything feels tight, visceral and satisfying, no more so than when you point-blank an enemy into a cloud of gibs.
The sound design is also absolutely excellent - each monster and weapon has clear and concise sound cues, giving the player a great deal of clarity and awareness even in the most hectic of fights. Coupled with a tight and precise sense of movement, even classic FPS nightmares such as platforming become an absolute breeze. It feels close to DOOM Eternal's sense of movement. I don't think praise gets much higher than that.
Anyway, go wishlist this bad boy. Show some love. It's fucking great.
