One short 5-video series for the game that started it all is just not enough, so now we're continuing the Metroid 30th anniversary celebration with a fangame that was released just for the occasion! This game is a remake of Metroid 2: Return of Samus originally released for the Game Boy that effectively gives it the Zero Mission treatment, with new power-ups, new bosses, and a complete graphical overhaul! Unfortunately the download links were unceremoniously DMCA'd by Nintendo, but torrents still exist out there somewhere, and as far as I know there was no official Cease & Desist order, so the game has not been completely Screwed By The Lawyers, it has just gone underground. You can still keep track of the developer's blog, the URL of which they put on the title screen, but I'll link it here as well.

In the first episode, we touch down on Planet SR388, immediately fight the Metroid's first evolved form the Alpha Metroid, and do some powering up in a golden Chozo temple.
