Hey, everyone! I'm once again participating in the Project For Awesome, the YouTube-wide day of charity/non-profit promotion started by Hank and John Green, aka, the Vlog Brothers. It's basically a site-wide effort to raise awareness for various non-profits and charities through the power of video. Anyway, as in years' past, I'll be promoting the Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network -- or, "RAINN", for short. Given the subject material of the video, viewer discretion is advised, as some of the discussed content may be considered too sensitive or "triggering" for some viewers (namely those who may have had experienced some kind of sexual assault in their lives).
RAINN is the largest anti-sexual violence organization in the United States. It's also the creator and operator of the National Sexual Assault Hotline, and carries out various programs to help prevent sexual violence, help the victims who have experienced it, and ensure that rapists are brought to justice.
Regardless of whether or not this gets a lot of attention during the Project For Awesome itself, I hope some of the people who see this (and given the difference in subscribers I have from last year, hopefully there's more of you!) will still be moved to at least check out RAINN, if not donate to them so they can continue doing what they do.
And as I stated in the video, above all else, I want to make it absolutely clear that, if you have been a victim of sexual assault in any way, IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT!! You are not responsible or to blame for the actions of another person, no matter what you were wearing, or how you were acting, or if you were drunk/high, or any other irrelevant details. None of these factors should, or will, justify something like rape, EVER.
