Project Looking Glass is a 3D Desktop created by Sun Microsystems between 2003 – 2007, it uses Java 3D to create the desktop.
I am looking at a Live CD version from 2006, which unfortunately is so old it pre-dates my oldest system by four years and will not boot.
It appears to be an issue with USB which is understandable as 2006 pre-dates inclusion of USB 3.0 drivers in the Linux Kernel.
