Privacy Concerns of Amazon Echo
Looking at the case of James Bates and the Hot Tub Murder where Police sent a warrant to Amazon requesting data from the Alexa (Echo) device which was present in the suspects house and may have overheard and recorded data relating to the case.
Amazon are refusing to hand any data over and are currently attempting to quash the case under rights of First Amendment and freedom of speech.
