Project M Demo 2.5 Engine Optimization: Knockback Stacking!
Please read below for a detailed explanation of each clip and what this means:
1) CF knees Mario into Marth f-smashing the opposite direction. The 2nd hit connects 10+ frames after the start of KB, so they stack (opposing vectors added together and non-opposing uses greater of the 2). The opposing horizontals mostly cancel each other out sending Mario up with overall less total KB, but with normal f-smash hitstun (the most recent hit is always used for the hitstun).
2) Falco shine d-air combos Sheik. The hits are 10+ apart so they stack. Some remaining upwards KB from the shine reduces the downwards KB of the d-air, so Sheik gets sent downwards slower but with normal d-air hitstun. Falco is able to land before Sheik.
3) Ganondorf d-smashes Fox. The kicks are 10+ apart so at lower percents the 1st kick's horizontal send behind him cancels out much of the 2nd's send away from him, causing Fox to go closer to straight up with overall less total KB but with the same normal hitstun.
4) Falco shine double jump d-airs Sheik. They are less than 10 frames apart so they do not stack and the d-air's KB fully replaces the previous KB, sending Sheik full speed downwards.
5) Falco shine double jump d-airs Sheik. They are 10+ frames apart so they do stack and the shine's upwards KB cancels out some of the d-air's downwards KB, sending Sheik down much slower but with normal d-air hitstun.
6) Jigglypuff rests Jigglypuff into the far away Jigglypuff who then jabs her. The hits are 10+ apart so they stack, with the weak jab having little effect on the KB, but the hitstun is that of the jab's.
7) Jigglypuff rests Jigglypuff into the Jigglypuff nearby who then jabs her. The hits are less than 10 frames apart so they do not stack and the jab's KB fully replaces the previous KB, saving her from being KOed.
