Project Root is an unconventional shoot 'em up making it's way to PS4 and Vita. It was actually released on Steam last year, but finally console players get a chance to try it out. Unlike most shooters, the game gives you free control of your ship and enemies can fire from offscreen. It definitely has bullet-hell elements and gameplay, so the airspace does get very crowded despite the fact that you can navigate away from enemies. This make the game require a lot of intuition and skill. The game also has progression because you gain experience and level up. This game should be particularly fun on the Vita because it's easy to pick up and play for a quick game. Project Root is scheduled to release soon on April 28.
